Brit Awards London

So a day before the Brits, we took the first Eurostar to London. This time we had more than one mission... Ofcourse the main mission was to see the lads.

We arrived in London, dropped our bags at the hotel and went straight to Earl's Court. We thought we had a good chance to spot them after the soundcheck... We had a look around and immediately found the Artist Entrance... Unfortunately we soon learned that Take That had been the first to do the soundcheck and that they had left already. This means we had missed them with a few minutes! How frustrating!

So we went on with our second secret mission, which we completed and were exstatic about. We enjoyed the rest of the day and met up with another fan later that day. After dinner we went back to the Artist Entrance and just sat in the neighbourhood of it waiting around... We ended up seeing The Edge from U2!

The day of the event itself, we arrived at 'our' artist entrance early morning and just sat there. Heaps of security passed us by and said hello, none of them even bothered to ask us what we were doing. Untill after about 2 hours... Apparently the people of production had their cameras on us the whole time and so we got kicked of the terrain... This was after 2 hours!!!

We knew we would not be able to see them today, unless at the red carpet, but we decided not to queu for this... Luckily, because they didn't do the carpet!
We went on with secret mission 3 and did get heaps of info... Which made it possible for us to succeed in one part. The easiest part! For the second part, we would like some new tips (you know who you are)!!!!

We went back to Earl's Court late afternoon and saw people were already screaming for God knows who was arriving... As Belgians, we had no clue who was passing the Red Carpet... We were just sure of one thing: it wasn't Take That!!!

We found out about Universal's afterparty, but were too tired to go so skipped it and went to bed.

Day three of our adventure was just strolling about in London and getting confused over busses! At one point we wanted to take a bus direction South Bank and ended up on the other side of town... We got stuck in the middle of traffic hour and ended up having to hurry to catch our train back...

So we did not see Take That, but it was still one succesfull adventure!
On to the next one!

Ps: We really hope 'you know who you are' gets to find this blog, since we gave you a wrong address... let us know if you do!

The Crazy Socks ... The name

So you wonder how we got to this name???
Well, in Paris Els saw how Nathalie was wearing these colourfull socks, so she showed hers off too.... We even took a picture of them!

In Cologne, in the middle of the lobby, we showed off our crazy colourfull socks again and yes... Another picture! This is when we decided that we'd be wearing our crazy socks on every Take That adventure! (Not too difficult for Nathalie, since she does not own normal socks...)

So when we decided to create this blog, we decided that this should be our name!
Look for The Crazy Socks on Myspace!!!

Guinnes World Records - Cologne

Take That in Cologne? We need to be there as well... and especially since it's only a few hundred kilometers away! So Els and Nathalie decided to go... We would leave early morning, but that plan changed quickly when Els got this feeling she had to leave earlier...
So around midnight, she picked up Nathalie and we left for our adventure.

A 5 hour battle against sleep later (in Nathalie's case), they had arrived in Cologne, bought our environmental sticker and went to the airport.
We had breakfast at McDonalds at 6am (never done that before!) and because Nathalie fell asleep over breakfast, Els decided to go back to the car to have a nap.

Nathalie soon felt better, unfortunately Els felt worse... But the thought they might get to see Take That today, made it all worth it.

No such luck at the airport though! So that means off to the radio station. We choose Radio Eins Live, since Mark and Jason would be there. This was soon confirmed, when the German fans said they were on the radio... But no-one saw them going in....
Big search in the radiobuilding where we got kicked out, bigger search in the parking lot. This is where Nathalie saw a member of staff of Radio Eins Live, who told her where the van would exit.
Plan of action: park close and block the van! So we did! Els was sure to have seen Mark in the car and she said he waved... (He probably did not wave but gestured we should move but hey! let's dream!) Later that evening we learned that indeed she saw Mark in the van. Cannot mis that sexy hat of his!
We followed the van in first position, but soon fell back to third and than even forth. At the final traffic lights it was too dangerous to follow the van more, but it seemed we were at the hotel...
Fase 1 of mission completed: we found the hotel. Great driving Els!

Booked a room , got a bit crazy and than went downstairs for a long wait...

To make a long story of waiting short, we saw Howard coming back from the show, he took the flag with our custom made M&M's (gave me a thorough but strange look straight in the eyes) and told us the rest had left again for the UK.

The next morning our alarm clock woke us up way too early, which basically means we turned around again and fell asleep again.... Oh no! We overslept?!
Quick change and off to breakfast! We would make it more of a brunch, since we did not want to miss a change of seeing the lovely Mr. Donald munching away....
Unfortunately we did not get this pleasure....

We thought by now our adventure was almost over without seeing any of them properly... We guessed wrong! While we were checking out, Howard and Lola come to reception to check out as well...
What a beautiful view we had! And how great it is to see him enjoy his youngest daughter so much!

That was the perfect ending to a 2 - day adventure!
Back to Belgium and start dreaming of our next adventure...

The Circus Launch

The Circus, new Take That album launch on December 1st 2008...

Early morning Take That would do a radio show in London, than they would take the Eurostar to Paris, where they would perform some songs to launch this new album.

We were 2 teams: Team Eurostar and Team Car
Team Eurostar were Els and Kelly, who were lucky enough (or wo everyone thought) to be on the train with Take That and would get to meet them and later on join the launchparty.
Team Car were Gloria and Nathalie, who were lucky to just have tickets for the party.
They kept eachother updated all day long, untill they met again in Paris Nord. It seemed Team Eurostar did not get to meet Take That, which ofcourse was a big dissapointment.

Both teams ended up in the busy fancrowd in Paris Nord, trying to get a glimpse of the lads. They succeeded very well and even got a little moment with some of them, which basically means a look back from the lads...

How you can enjoy the simple things in life such as a smile from a goodlooking man!

The launchparty was a feast: free drinks, free snacks and 6 free songs! What an amazing little showcase and what a party afterwards...

Unfortunately we did not make it to the VIP room in time, just as we entered, James kicked us out again....

Better luck next time...
